Ecovillages: Where They Are, What They're Doing, Why They're Important (SF)

Come learn about the ecological, economic, social and cultural aspects of sustainability, with photos and stories from dozens of EcoVillage projects worldwide. Discover how finding community is as critical as obtaining food and shelter, and how "multiple centers of initiative" in a resident-planned-and-run green neighborhood can prevent suburban sprawl. Meet others who seek to create a family-oriented or retirement-focused ecologically sustainable life, in the Bay Area and beyond.

The presenter is EcoVillage News Publisher Diana Leafe Christian, author of Finding Community and Creating a Life Together, was editor of Communities magazine, published by Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC)

This event is hosted by the Environment and Natural Resources forum of the Commonwealth Club of California.

Linda, this event is July 9, as it has always been. If you're looking for the downtown OAKLAND event for a new potential cohousing community there, that was announced as Thursday the 9th, but is actually Friday the 10th, and you can RSVP for that here: http://www.ebcoho.org/calendar/10796927/
