Climate Change Action Group series - go on a Low Carbon Diet (Downtown Berkeley)

Concerned about the climate change? Feeling frustrated? Wondering how you can make a difference?

Join cohousers and progressive activists at The Hub at the ultra-green Brower Center for the first Downtown Berkeley lunchtime Climate Change Action Group series and create an action plan that suits your lifestyle and interests.

During four weekly hourlong sessions Mondays at noon (BYO lunch), led by EBCOHO community organizer and Cohousing Coach Raines Cohen (who studied with Al Gore as part of The Climate Project) you will work in a team with a small group of your colleagues and neighbors to calculate your carbon footprint, create a measurable personal action plan to reduce your footprint, and make substantive changes in your community.

The Climate Change Action Group will follow a method developed by The Ecology Center, using The Low Carbon Diet workbook, which describes "a 30 day program to lose 500 pounds." The Ecology Center provides the public with reliable information, tools, hands-on training, referrals, strategies, infrastructure, and models for sustainable living. Its programs enable people to adopt practices that are environmentally and socially responsible. It runs Berkeley's residential curbside recycling program, the Berkeley Farmers' Markets, Farm Fresh Choice food justice program, Terrain magazine, EcoHouse demonstration home and garden, the Ecology Center Store, and a variety of Information and Climate Change Action programs.
