Urban Farming talk at Make:SF (Downtown Oakland)

Mar 2010 2
Tue 7:30 PM
Description

From the Make:SF MeetUp: We are starting the Remake America series with Esperanza Pallana, an urban farmer living in Oakland. She will speak about on how you actually make farming in a city work and how you can begin farming yourself.

The Remake America series is inspired by the Welcome and the projects in the Remake America issue of Make Magazine. It will be a series of speakers, projects, and demos all within framework outlined in the that issue. The goal we have is to create a community of people who are all building a sustainable future. So, if you are already working on a sustainability project we want to hear about it. If you want to start a sustainability project we will help you get started. If you want to learn more come see a speaker or do a mini-project in the series. Lets get started!

This fun-for-all-ages event starts at 7:30pm. Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

New to Make:SF? Here is what you can do:
- New to making? Come and explore with a fun mini-project.
- Have an idea? Come and we will help you get started making it.
- Making something? Come and demo it. Get feedback and network with the Makers.
- Come to see the speakers we bring in talk about their projects, tools you can use, etc.
