Excellent tour of a variety of cooperative housing communities. Very informative. It was generous of tenants and co-owners to spend their weekend time leading tours of their homes and educating us about the coop movement.

Thank you so much for arranging this tour. I hope it is repeated. I did not know some of these co-ops existed, and was glad for the opportunity to see them. I'd like to see ongoing meetings for those interested in forming or joining co-ops or cohousing so we can keep up momentum.

Very interesting tour--all within walking distance of each other--of four co-ops, each different in the building design, financing arrangements and living conditions. I especially liked that each place had its own one-page summary. Unfortunately, since these are all older places and/or subsidized in some way, it's not clear that any of them provide a model for what would work today for middle income people.

Learned a lot about different forms of co-op living; met and re-met some great people. Perfect day for a walk around Berkeley.

I was one of the organizers of the event so I cannot say for sure how the attendees felt about it, but we got very positive feedback from many people who attended. There is clearly a very big interest in living in community as well as a very big need for affordable housing, as those were the two things we heard most from people who attended the event. Since everyone came to our co-op (Ninth Street Co-op) first and then went to the other three co-ops, many people left their cars at our place and then came back to visit with us again after they saw the other three co-ops. As a result, we heard from many of the people who came back a second time, that they really enjoyed seeing 4 very different types of cooperative living communities and getting an education in some of the various possibilities that are available. We are sorry that some people came on this tour because there were vacancies at the four co-ops, and we were sorry to disappoint them that there are currently no vacancies.

Interesting people, but not as many as I'd heard are usually there.

A mellow summer crowd. Nice to actually have room to sit down for once. Lots of folks interested in building community.

It was a mellow, wonderful day with good company. Strangers quickly became friends. I went on the biodiversity hike and learned a lot; though it went a little fast. Then the was a campfire with great music by Michael and Linda Lu, and s'mores. The owl hike in the evening was a hoot! We just walked along a level road-very easy even in the dark- and Greg Damron called owls over to talk to us!

Fabulous! Learned a lot. Beautiful wild acreage within a few minutes' walk from my home. Want to continue to stay in touch with Wild and Radish folks. Maybe I can help. I know I can learn from them.

Great idea a farm and ecovillage. I look forward to seeing its completion. I hope it will be a worker's co-op, housing co-op owned in an egalitarian group.

Generally good, but progress is slow in formulating any specific action plan for this coalition. Meetings have become somewhat repetitive, with the nonparticipation theme and around-the-circle introductions taking a lot of time. I keep coming and having interesting conversations with some other individuals, but unless the coalition develops some concrete projects with deliverables I'm not optimistic that it'll become an important force. Cooperative housing faces serious obstacles, and the coalition could tackle them if it wanted, but I don't get the feeling that it has this as a mission, or is really developing a mission at all.

Interesting and informative. I was impressed by the amount of work that has been done by some of the cohousing groups and reps in attendance. Felt a bit "out of it" in relation to some of the issues raised toward the end of the meeting in asmuch as I am not presently part of a cohousing group.

I made it only to the end as people were leaving, but the enthusiasm about the Albany Gill Trat Occupy The Farm movement was infectious.

It was inspiring to see the diversity of communities and forming initiatives and dreams gathered together in the RTP area. I look forward to seeing folks use this MeetUp to build and grow. We already had several people who couldn't make it ask us "when will the next one be?" I think the answer to that question is up to all of you.

This was a fine opportunity to meet like minded people, hear about their efforts at co-housing and consider more options. I was inspired to ask, "How can we enhance the communication among our members?" Someone suggested we might each post more information about what we're seeking and create more specific events to come together around these intentions.

So glad to have the chance to hear McKibben speak; he's humble, funny and inspiring. Those of us out here working on climate issues need al the humor and inspiration we can get. I was disappointed in our breakout group. I would have liked to know a little about what each person in the group was doing and an invitation to open a discussion.

I really appreciated the warm welcome and educational introduction to Co-Housing and the community. I look forward to keeping in touch and learning about opportunities to check out existing communities and/or forming new ones. Thank you Breakthrough Betsy!

Great opportunity to meet others who are searching for community. Lots of good information and resources, thank you Betsy! I'm still fuzzy on how to use the EBCOHO site. Would appreciate some additional time just for "schmoozing." Liked the closing "name game" and the cards.

What an inspiration to meet some of the other national leaders in the CoHo movement. The conference sounds like it will be informative and a great opportunity to meet like minded adventuresome spirits. I just registered!
