Berkeley Town House open house & EBCOHO reception Sunday (South Berkeley)

One of Berkeley's largest cooperative housing projects has been quietly lurking in South Berkeley, supporting the concept of Aging In Community for nearly half a century, but EBCOHO Supporting Member Jonathan Pool now lives there and has started reaching out to fill the several units currently available for sale. It is a market-rate (not limited equity) co-op, but we've seen some relatively affordable prices on homes in this great location, walking distance to both downtown Berkeley and the heart of campus, and lots of physical structure (built elements) that support community - the social side is up to you! They've been holding open houses most Sundays from 2-4 to show homes, but tomorrow they've agreed to try an experiment and follow it with a social hour from 4-5 PM so you can get to meet some of the neighbors there; light refreshments will be provided. We're in conversation about holding a number of EBCOHO events in their lovely space.

About Berkeley Town House
We are a senior (age 55 or older) housing cooperative at 2550 Dana Street (at Parker, nextdoor to Parker Street Co-Op) in South Berkeley, just off Telegraph Ave. near Dwight.

Our nine-story building has 60 units, ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Common areas include a library, dining room, kitchen, lounge, laundry room, underground garage, and patio.

The cooperative has an elected board of directors, and specialized committees; we use an outside management company to help run the place. Residents participate in a variety of shared cultural and social activities, including movie screenings, music performances, and discussion groups.
