This is the second in a series of meetings intended to bring together people with similar visions of more cooperative and ecologically sustainable neighborhoods in San Francisco. The organizer, EBCOHO member Kelly Simpson, is hoping to find people interested in creating a Backyard Neighborhood and Learning Center in San Francisco, preferably with many permaculture aspects, but other attendees may wish to discuss other San Francisco cohousing and EcoVillage possibilities, such as senior cohousing or a green co-op with rental units modeled after L.A. Ecovillage.

After the Q&A with cohousing and real-estate professionals from 6:30 to 7:15, the agenda will be open-space format: Attendees with particular interests or information will announce subjects that will be open for discussion in various areas of the room, and then everyone will move to the areas where discussions that interest them are occurring.

There will be forms with optional survey questions about the attendees’ community visions and preferences, which could be used to help bring together people who might want to start an intentional neighborhood together. The questions are posted at sfbackyard.wordpress.com/survey, so you can email your answers to Kelly. (As of August 29, Kelly’s database has 59 names, including 24 people who attended the meeting on July 13.)

Suggested donation: $2 minimum per person suggested donation for Cal Pacific Medical Center.

For general questions about the meeting or concept, post them as comments on this event or the announcement on Kelly's blog.
