A friend of ours is property manager at this place, which I've visited and found rather cohousing-like. With 3-4 units open, there's potential for folks to form a critical mass and start living in community right away, doing meals together, and the like - and to get existing residents involved -- Raines
Studio 59 is an 11-unit converted warehouse turned into condo-grade units (completed August '08.) All units come with gas stove, dishwasher, skylights, wall-to-wall carpet, granite countertops, closets, 30+ft ceilings. Some units have patios (dogs OK in these units only - additional deposit required) Very cool spaces ... private and large enough to express yourself.

Studio 59 is located at the junction of the cites of Oakland, Emeryville and Berkeley. The neighborhood is ideal because of its proximity to the Bay Bridge, Emeryville shopping, Downtown Oakland and UC Berkeley. Make your commute a little easier with convenient freeway access to go in any direction. Parks, restaurants (Bucci's, Town House, Ruby's Rudy's Can't Fail, Cocina Pablano and more), coffee shops (Starbucks, Peets) and major shopping all a short walk away.

Three units currently available, and another available September 15:
  • #3 - 1405 sq. ft/$1900 - 2 bd/1.5 ba very large unit with three levels! One-of-a-kind copper counter top - separates kitchen from living room/dining room. Extra room that would make a great office. Back door access to street as well-bonus outside vestibule area.
  • #9- 1311 sq. ft/$1754 - 1 bd/1 ba very large unit with patio - dogs allowed. Great open floor plan!
  • #10- 718 sq/ ft/$1385 - Notes say the sq. footage, but looks/feels much larger! Must See!. 1 bd/1ba with front patio. Very private unit - outside access. Must see. Very cool space for the price! Bonus storage space above bathroom!!
  • Available September 15 - #7 - 1307 sq. ft/$1754 - 1bd/1 ba very large unit with patio - dogs allowed. Great open floor plan!
