Churcha Soul

Live In Beauty, Live In Community –
as a Housemate & Co-Creator at The Churcha Soul!
(Oakland)
Do you have a passion for synergistic, transformational community living? Then join us!

The Churcha Soul (Church of Soul)...
is a big, gorgeous space (the "great room" is 1,000 sq. ft., with 12 ft. ceilings),
and a communal home to 4, looking for a 5th...

I founded the Churcha Soul as a center for transformation, celebration, and service...
a spiritually progressive playground for grown-ups... We host community events in
the main common area, downstairs, and the large bedrooms (each with their own
bathroom) are upstairs. We strive to create intimacy in our lives and with each other
by practicing direct, open, honest communication. In fact, I teach workshops and
lead groups in what I call Soulful Communication, in which all of us have participated.

AND, I've tricked the place out with a PA system & movie theater (10 ft. screen, baby!)
Your Room is...
  • big, spacious 11 by 20... PLUS, a full, slate-tiled bathroom of your own! (w/ tub!)...
  • corner room, with lots of light -- 5 big windows, on two walls...
  • quiet, even when things are going on elsewhere in the house...
  • costs $760 + utils, with some partial barter possible, depending on your skills...
  • available right NOW...

About Us...
I, Taber, am a psychotherapist/counselor/teacher/writer/workshop leader type
(with a spiritual orientation, specializing in what I call Soulful Communication),
and a singer-songwriter & dancer.
Josh is a computer genius. (I'm not kidding. Or exaggerating.)
Iggy does computer graphics, while looking for another restaurant management gig.
Abott does catering, bodywork, and teaches Chi Gong.

We are a fun, open-hearted, passionate bunch. Cooking & eating meals together is
desirable & encouraged, but not required. We are looking for someone who's inclined
towards creating a sense of tribe, a cozy family. There is privacy at the Churcha Soul,
but you'd need to be comfortable with the idea of social events and communal living to
really enjoy living here.

The Vision & Future Plans:
In service of the vision of Transformation, Celebration, & Service, we've been living together,
building relationships with each other and the community, and putting on events for several
years now. But we're in the process of rampin' it up, takin' it all to the next level...
We'd love to have you come join us for this exciting time of co-creation!
We plan to roll out more events, and have them more regularly.
These may include, but are not limited to...

  • Movie nights
  • Live music events
  • Growth workshops
  • Community Dinners
  • Conscious social gatherings
  • Spiritual (not religious) worship services
  • Dance parties (think ecstatic dance gets down & FUNKY)
