This workshop will break down the process and help you think systematically as we build and envision collective housing spaces for ourselves and our communities.

To participate in the workshop, you must either have attended the Acquisition & Rehab workshop on December 12, 2020 or watched the recording here:

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Financing/funding a project to be permanently affordable, with a focus on equity and subsidy
  • The process of rehabilitating an existing property, including energy efficiency programs
  • The process and costs of converting from a rental to a cooperative (within the Community Land Trust model)

Enterprise Community PartnersWorkshop presenters include James Yelen from Enterprise Community Partners and Sarah Scruggs from the Northern California Land Trust (NCLT). 

This workshop is presented by both the California Community Land Trust Network (CACLTN) as part of their CLT Academy and the Community Co-Ownership Initiative (CCOI). CCOI is a partnership started between the People of Color Sustainable Housing Network (POCSHN) and the Northern California Land Trust (NCLT). This is not a POC-only workshop. There will be interpretation and materials in Spanish.

El proceso de compra y rehabilitación de propiedades (asegurando que sean asequibles para los residentes actuales y futuros) es complejo.

Este taller explicará el proceso y te ayudará a pensar de modo que pueda entender el proceso, al mismo tiempo que construimos e imaginamos espacios de vivienda colectiva para nosotros y nuestras comunidades.
